Joaquin’s introduction to the world of triathlon was unexpected and came shortly after a kidney transplant ignited him with motivation full of second chances. Joaquin’s story is not a common one but one that resonates with many of us, looking for those second chances life has to offer. Many times Joaquin was told no, not happening, not today and yet he continued to persevere towards an inner drive to show up and carry his feet over those finish lines. He even took a pause from triathlon after the loss of his father and talked about how that was an important part of his journey into coming back, when the time was right and he was ready. Joaquin opens up with how the support of his wife and children gives him the strength to keep going, as well as helps him to pick those destination Ironman races as family vacations. Making each Ironman Race an adventure for the entire family to enjoy.
